Clare's Stores

For frugal, fashion-conscious teen and preteen girls, Claire's Stores is the queen of costume jewelry, handbags, and hair bows typically priced from $2 to $20. Claire's operates about 3,000 boutiques, primarily in malls, that include Claire's, The Icing, Bijoux One, and Cleopatre, among others. The chain operates in all 50 US states, Canada, Europe, Puerto Rico, the UK, and the Virgin Islands. Claire's Stores has sold its Mr. Rags operation, which offered apparel for boys. The Schaefer family is the company's majority shareholder and controls about one-third of Claire's voting power.

Michael Hill Jeweller

Michael Hill International operates Michael Hill Jeweller – a retail jewellery chain catering principally for the middle section of the jewellery market, with 158 stores between Australia, New Zealand and Canada as at 28 July 2005. The Company also specialises in higher priced diamond jewellery. The Company had its origins in 1979 when Michael Hill opened the first store in the New Zealand town of Whangarei, some 160 kilometres north of Auckland.
